The
Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry received on Wednesday a trade
delegation from the Republic of Slovenia which included representatives of 30
companies and establishments from different economic, industrial and services
sector.
The
meeting witnesses the attendance of managers of more than 40 Emirati companies
operating in Abu Dhabi.
His
Excellency Dr. Mubarak Al-Ameri, Board Member at the Abu Dhabi Chamber, said in
a speech he delivered at the beginning of the meeting that the visit of the
Slovenian trade delegation to the Abu Dhabi Chamber reflects their awareness on
increasing the volume of economic and trade cooperation between the Emirate of
Abu Dhabi and the Republic of Slovenia and contributing to boosting economic
relations to reach the ambitious levels of both sides.
Al-Ameri
added that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi works on developing the infrastructure and
a competitive business environment to bring them to the best international
levels, noting that such an infrastructure would help in facilitating the move
of passengers and goods considering Khalifa Port as one of the biggest and most
advanced ports in the world.
“Abu
Dhabi is also working on providing a lot of facilities to set up an investment
climate with international standards that encourages international and regional
businessmen to establish their companies in Abu Dhabi. There are indeed a large
number of international companies which took from the emirate a base for their
regional and international operations,” he said.
The
Board Member pointed out that despite the economic development in the Emirate
of Abu Dhabi and the Republic of Slovenia; however, the volume of trade
exchange between them does not reflect the available capabilities, which
requires spending more efforts by the companies of the private sector to bring
the volume of trade exchange to the desired levels.
Al-Ameri
called on businessmen and companies in Slovenia to increase their economic
cooperation and discover the unlimited opportunities in the emirate. He also
encouraged Emirati businessmen and companies to boost their investments in
Slovenia.
Abu
Dhabi Chamber Board Members Their Excellency Hamed Al-Shaer and Khan Zaman
attended the meeting along with His Excellency Mohammed Helal Al-Muhairi,
Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, and a number of executive directors
and officials at the Chamber.
For
her part, Her Excellency Tatjana Miskova, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic
of Slovenia to the UAE (Non Resident), emphasized on the interest of Slovenian
companies to increase their presence in the UAE markets, praising the high
international level of Khalifa Port. She also emphasized on the desire of such
companies to benefit from the services and incentives which are provided by the
related authorities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to invest in a number of
sectors and fields that are envisioned by the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
